What it means to be a Certified Green Roofer in Tillamook

gafgreen

In 2010 GAF, the largest roofing manufacturer in North American began its Certified Green Roofer program. To qualify, Certified Green Roofers must pass a written test and complete a Sustainability Assessment before being admitted to the program. As a condition of membership, they commit to recycling shingles.

Recycling shingles has huge positive impacts on our environment and when choosing a company to install your new roof, we encourage you to make sure your roofer is doing his part to steward the earth. Recycling shingles means less landfill waste and fewer resource requirements. Most shingle types can be recycled in one way or another, including clay, slate, aluminum, steel, asphalt, cedar shakes, and even some composite options.

Make sure you know your roofer, and if going green is important to you, go with Tillamook’s only Certified Green Roofer.
